PRETORIA - The US Embassy in Pretoria says it's sending a petition from a group of Afrikaners to President Donald Trump.
About a thousand people gathered out the embassy in Pretoria on Saturday.
They want Trump to intervene in policies and laws they claim impact the Afrikaner community.

Trump and billionaire Elon Musk have been highly critical of South Africa's expropriation law.
The US has halted funding to the country over the legislation.
This is despite assurances that no land grabs have taken place and that the law does NOT target any specific demographic.
Afrikaners at the event thanked Trump for his efforts.
