SAHRC probes racist urinal incident

JOHANNESBURG - A video showing two white men urinating on images of black political leaders in a Sasolburg bar has sparked outrage.

The faces include President Cyril Ramaphosa, Jacob Zuma, Julius Malema, and Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.

The video was taken in 2021 but has recently resurfaced.

The former owner says the images were quickly removed.

But the SA Human Rights Commission is now involved.

A former employee laid a complaint, citing racism and unfair treatment.

"We, as the Human Rights Commission, strongly object to this type of conduct from any citizen in the country and this has raised outrage across the province and the country," said SAHRC Free State Manager, Thonoko Modise.
