CAPE TOWN - Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia says the deployment of SANDF to crime-ridden provinces will begin in the next 10 days.
Cachalia said SAPS National Commissioner Fannie Masemola and Chief of the SA Army Lieutenant General Lawrence Mbatha met on Monday to finalise the deployment plan.
The Eastern Cape will also be one of the provinces that will receive a deployment of military forces.
“The deployment plan will begin in the next 10 days. And by the direction of the President, I can confirm that the deployment will include the Eastern Cape.
"This decision is appreciated in communities across our country,” Cachalia told Parliament on Tuesday.
