SAPS Ad Hoc Committee MPs push to finalise report

CAPE TOWN - It's a race against time for the SAPS Ad Hoc Committee probing claims of corruption in law enforcement.

The Committee is meeting on Tuesday afternoon to discuss housekeeping matters, including its draft programme.

MPs are battling to meet a final deadline of 12 June.

The Committee secured this date, its fifth extension, as it was unable to meet its previous end-of-April mandate.

Evidence leaders have already presented a preliminary overview and draft report.

They found widespread failures within police, crime intelligence, the NPA and the executive.
