SAPS Ad Hoc Committee to submit written questions to Ramaphosa

CAPE TOWN -  Parliamentarians in the SAPS Ad Hoc Committee have until Thursday to submit written questions for President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The Ad Hoc Committee unanimously agreed that Ramaphosa will not give oral evidence, but instead, members will submit a list of written questions.

Committee Chairperson, Soviet Lekganyane, said Ramaphosa is expected to answer on the formation and mandate of the now disbanded Political Killings Task Team.

“The decision is that the President is not going to appear before the committee. The task team that was investigating the political killings was appointed by the President.

"He is also the one who appoints the chairperson of that committee, which you call the IMC.... And that is basically why we felt that he should be written to,” Lekganyane said.
