DURBAN - SARS and the Hawks have seized 30 bricks of cocaine at the Durban harbour.
The latest drug interception comes just three days after a major seizure at the same port. About 90kg of cocaine hidden in trucks from Brazil was confiscated.
These seizures highlight increased attempts by organised crime cartels to traffic narcotics through South Africa’s trade hubs.
The country has become the preferred transit point for Mexican and Brazilian syndicates, before consignments are shipped to Australia and Europe.
