JOHANNESBURG - The legal battle over the controversial Tafelberg housing case is heading to the Constitutional Court.
This is a decade-long battle against spatial segregation and for affordable housing in Cape Town by lobby groups Ndifuna Ukwazi and Reclaim the City.
The site in contention is the old Tafelberg school site in Sea Point which was sold to private developers instead of it being used to address the City’s much-needed housing shortage crisis.
And then last week the province announced a section of the site would be used for social services and further studied will be done to determine whether the remainder of the site could be used for affordable housing..
The Good Party's Brett Herron said there's a number of things that will be challenged in court.
