DURBAN - Durban residents will face more water-use restrictions as the ongoing crisis continues to grip the coastal city.
The city says water demand is outstripping supply due to rapid population growth and leaks.
It says this has led to its reservoirs being depleted.
Water and Sanitation Minister Pemmy Majodina held an urgent meeting in a bid to resolve the problem.
The Metro and uMngeni uThukela Water Board have now resolved to implement formal water-use restrictions.
Last week, eThekwini implemented water rationing across its water network to manage demand.
