SA's water crisis | Water everywhere, but not a drop to drink

DURBAN - The heavy summer rains in KwaZulu-Natal mean that there's no shortage of water, with dams full.

But this has brought little reprieve for residents grappling with water cuts in the eThekwini Metro.

Residents continue to struggle, with high demand exceeding the municipality's ability to deliver the water.

Heavy rains in the province have raised water levels to above 80 percent in dams.

The Hazelmere Dam in the eThekwini Metro is currently overflowing into the Mvoti River.

But residents aren't getting water due to a municipal system plagued by leaks and theft.
