JOHANNESBURG - The Social Security Agency has scrapped its gold card deadline, for now.
The cards were due to stop working at the end of the month.
Sassa started rolling out black cards a couple of months ago, to replace the gold cards.

But many grant recipients complained they were unable to obtain the new cards.
When eNCA visited various Sassa offices, beneficiaries were in long queues, complaining that only limited numbers of people were being assisted.
The agency still wants grant recipients to eventually switch to the new Black cards.
