EAST LONDON - Eastern Cape schools are slamming the provincial government's decision to ban selling alcohol at schools.
Several have approached the Liquor Board, demanding the right to apply for a liquor license.
They say the ban cuts off essential avenues for fundraising for school maintenance.
Eastern Cape Education says it is against the law to sell alcohol in schools.
It says it's willing to defend its decision to ban the sale in court.
