According to reports, the woman accompanied Mkhawane and one of his wives to the Hennops River for a ritual, where she was allegedly raped.
The baby was allegedly abducted and killed as part of a plan to cash in on a funeral policy.
The matter will return to court on 29 October to allow for accused number one, Ntsako Makhubela, to undergo a mental evaluation.
