BHISHO – Seven people have been killed and others injured in a crash involving a minibus taxi and a bus in Kariega in the Eastern Cape.
According to provincial transport authorities, preliminary investigations reveal that the crash happened when a fully loaded minibus taxi transporting workers from KwaNobuhle towards towards Kariega allegedly made a U-turn in front of an oncoming bus.
Seven people including the driver of the minibus taxi were declared dead at the scene. Two others were left critically injured, while other passengers suffered minor to moderate injuries.
Emergency services are still at the scene.
