Several judges appointed to beef up judiciary

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed several judges to beef up the judiciary.

It includes Justice Aubrey Ledwaba as a Judge President of the Gauteng Division of the High Court.

The appointment is effective from Friday.

Three appointments were made to the Supreme Court of Appeal.

The Eastern Cape division of the High Court will have three new judges – one in Mthatha and two in Makhanda.

Five appointments were made to the Western Cape Division of the High Court.

Ramaphosa made the appointments on the advice of the Judicial Service Commission.
