Sibiya Case: Arrest location, ages under scrutiny as Sibiya defence presses police officer

JOHANNESBURG - Suspended top cop Shadrack Sibiya insists he was not arrested at a strip club.

The suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner was cuffed in Sandton for sexual grooming and rape.

His lawyers argue he was taken in at a restaurant near The Grand strip club but the investigating officer was adamant about the arrest location.

Sibiya's defence team has aggressively challenged the investigating officer's testimony regarding the ages of the teenagers involved in the case.

Sibiya faces charges of rape, human trafficking, sexual grooming and negligent handling of a firearm.
