Sibiya: I am under siege

PRETORIA - Suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Shadrack Sibiya, says that he is under siege and feels betrayed by his colleagues.

Sibiya uttered these words after law enforcement officials conducted a raid at his Centurion home on Thursday.

The suspended cop confirmed that a laptop and phones were confiscated in the raid.

Sibiya feels this is a tactic to scare him as he prepares to appear before the Madlanga Commission, Parliament's Ad Hoc Committee on SAPS, and an internal disciplinary hearing.

“I am under pressure, I am under siege, I've been called a criminal in daylight in front of all South Africans, I have been called stupid,” Sibiya said.

“I am waiting myself to have my day at the Commission, ultimately I will be charged, I expect to be pushed out, it's what this whole thing is all about.”

Earlier in the day, there were reports of Sibiya's arrest when law enforcement arrived at his property, but it turned out to be a search and seizure procedure.
