RANDBURG - The hearing of suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya has been postponed to Wednesday at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court.
The investigating officer in the case was under cross-examination on Friday following Thursday’s revelations, with the defence seeking to poke holes in the State’s evidence.
Sibiya's lawyer, advocate Amanda Nel, has focused her cross-examination on getting the investigating officer to concede that The Grand, the venue of Sibiya's address, operates as both a restaurant and a hotel, not just a strip club.
Sibiya faces charges of rape, human trafficking and sexual grooming.
He is currently held in solitary confinement within the C-Max facility at Kgoši Mampuru II Correctional Centre.
