JOHANNESBURG - Soldiers arrested for the murder of Hawks Lieutenant-Colonel Frans Mathipa are applying for bail.
The 12 face charges of kidnapping, murder and fraud in the Randburg magistrate’s court.
They include two arrested at OR Tambo International Airport last week and ten who handed themselves over.

Mathipa was shot dead on the N1 near Hammanskraal in 2023.
He was investigating the disappearance of alleged ISIS financier Abdella Abadiga.
The accused are also linked to the kidnapping of another foreign national.
