South Africa hands over G20 Presidency to the United States

PRETORIA - South Africa officially hands over the G20 Presidency to the United States at the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) offices in Pretoria.

The US will officially assume the G20 Presidency on 1 December 2025.

The G20 Summit was successfully hosted in South Africa this past weekend without the attendance of the US or anyone present from the Trump Administration.

The Leaders’ Declaration was adopted without the United States, as it had boycotted the summit.
