JOHANNESBURG - Stats SA has confirmed that its systems have been breached.
Cybercrime group XP95 is claiming responsibility for the attack. It's the second hit on a government entity in a month.
In the latest incident, XP95 claim they have taken over 400-thousand files and 154 Gigabytes of data.
But Statistics SA says the breach only affected a Human Resources database.
Stats SA holds census data, economic indicators, employment figures, and demographic information of millions of South Africans.
