Suspect to appear in court for Nhlamulo Sambo murder

MOSSEL BAY - A 23-year-old man is expected to appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on Friday, in connection with the murder 19-year-old Nhlamulo Sambo.

The teenager was stabbed to death at the weekend in Nonqaba during the ongoing anti-migrant unrest.

But police say their investigation has found no link between his killing and the protests.

They allege that he was attacked while trying to steal from a shack in the area.

His mother rejects that version, insisting her son was targeted because he's Tsonga. Sambo's body was taken to the scene on Thursday, ahead of his final trip for burial in Limpopo.
