Three MECs out as Ramathuba reshuffles Limpopo cabinet

POLOKWANE - Limpopo Premier Phophi Ramathuba has announced a major reshuffle of her Executive Council, with three MECs removed from their positions and three new faces brought into the provincial Cabinet.

Violet Mathye has been removed as Transport MEC, while Dieketseng Mashego has been replaced in Health and Jerry Maseko is out of the Sport portfolio.

They have been replaced by Pule Shayi, Eddie Maila and Constance Kupa-Mabuza as Ramathuba reorganises several key departments.

Shayi takes over Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, while current MEC Basikopo Makamu moves to Agriculture and Rural Development.

Nakedi Kekana has been moved to the Transport portfolio.

Maila will head the Health Department, while Kupa-Mabuza takes responsibility for Sport.

Ramathuba said the changes are aimed at responding to concerns and feedback from residents across the province.

The reshuffle comes as the provincial government faces pressure to improve service delivery across critical sectors, including healthcare, transport and local government.

The Premier said the changes are intended to ensure her Executive Council is better aligned with the needs and expectations of the people of Limpopo.
