JOHANNESBURG - The wife of controversial businessman Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala and the daughter of one of the alleged hitmen are fighting to have charges against them dropped.
Tsakane Matlala and Nthabiseng Nzama have made representations to the NPA. They argue the money laundering case against them cannot stand.
The charges are linked to the alleged attempted hit on Matlala’s former girlfriend, Tebogo Thobejane.

Proceedings have already been delayed due to disputes over evidence disclosure.
The court is now expected to decide whether the case moves forward or if the charges against the two will be withdrawn.
