Tshwane CFO Gareth Mnisi placed on precautionary suspension

JOHANNESBURG - The Tshwane metro has started a disciplinary process against its Chief Financial Officer Gareth Mnisi.

Council has approved a move to place him on precautionary suspension following allegations made at the Madlanga Commission.

Mnisi has now been given seven days to explain why he should not be suspended.

An independent investigator will be appointed to probe the matter given the CFO’s key role in managing public finances.

The city says it will follow due process and act based on the outcome of the investigation.
Mnisi has been on leave this week.
