Two arrested for fatal stabbing of Pretoria East pupil

PRETORIA - Two pupils have been arrested for killing another pupil at Lesedi Secondary School in Pretoria East.

Lethabo Mokonyane was killed after writing his last Grade 11 exam.

He was stabbed in front of other pupils.

The 19-year-old suspects will face murder charges in the Bronkhorstspruit magistrate's court.

According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, Mokonyane was stabbed to death outside the school premises on Tuesday.

"It is reported that the deceased was attacked by the suspects, who stabbed him on the upper body. He was taken to the nearest medical care centre where he was certified dead on arrival," he said.

Masondo says they are also looking for a Grade 12 pupil from the same school who is a person of interest in the case.
