DURBAN - Two cash-in-transit suspects have been killed in a shootout with KwaZulu-Natal police.
Police were guarding two cash vehicles in Msinga, north of the province.
When the criminals saw the police, they attempted to escape the scene.
A lengthy car chase and shootout followed.
Two suspects were killed while two others were arrested.
A third suspect was later arrested in Newcastle after trying to flee in the direction of Gauteng.
Police say the suspects were travelling in three cars, including a hijacked getaway Mercedes-Benz.
They say one of the suspects had previously been fired from G4S in Johannesburg.
Guns have been seized, and police are hunting for the remaining gang members.
