JOHANNESBURG - Police in Limpopo have launched a manhunt for two awaiting-trial prisoners who escaped from Waterval Police Station this morning.
Police said the escape was discovered during routine patrols.
The suspects allegedly cut through burglar bars and iron grills above the cell balcony to escape.
The men, aged 30 and 35, were being held for separate cases of robbery with aggravating circumstances.
Limpopo Police Commissioner Jan Petrus Scheepers has ordered an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the escape.
Police have warned the public not to approach the men, who are considered dangerous.
