Update on efforts to rid Hartbeespoort Dam of invasive species

JOHANNESBURG - A new method is being used to remove hyacinth from the Hartbeespoort Dam.

Water lettuce and hyacinth feed off sewage and can harm local wildlife, interfere with recreational activities and disrupt tourism at the body of water

Water and Sanitation Deputy Minister Sello Seithlolo has visited Hartbeespoort Dam to assess progress.

He feels that there is some improvement in the situation.
