UPDATE: Fannie Nkosi case postponed

PRETORIA - The case against suspended SAPS Organised Crime Unit member, Fannie Nkosi has been postponed to 22 July to consolidate all his cases including the one in Venda.

The disgraced cop made a brief appearance in the Pretoria North Magistrate's court on Thursday.

Nkosi faces charges in Thohoyandou related to interference in a drug case. This case will now also be heard in Pretoria.

He remains in police custody after his previous bail applications were denied. His bail appeal will be heard on the 26 May at the Pretoria High Court.

Nkosi's return to court follows a series of escalating legal challenges tied to the Madlanga Commission.

In April, he was denied bail as he could not prove his release was in the interests of justice.

Nkosi is facing charges related to high-calibre firearms, ammunition, a stun grenade, police dockets and cash found during a raid.

He's been touted as the middleman between alleged cartel boss Vusimuzi Cat Matlala, top cops and Tshwane officials.
