UPDATE: Joe ‘Ferrari’ Sibanyoni, co-accused granted bail

MBOMBELA - Mpumalanga taxi boss Joe "Ferrari" Sibanyoni and his three co-accused including Oupa Johannes "Bafana" Sindane, have been granted bail.

The bail has been set at R70,000 for all four. They are expected back in court on 1 September.

All four have been ordered to report to a police station which will be discussed with the State. They have also been ordered not to interfere with witnesses.

The group appeared in the Delmas Magistrate's Court on Thursday after their extortion and money laundering case was re-enroled.

They have approached the High Court in Mbombela to set aside the J50 warrants of arrest. In the court papers, they criticise the National Prosecuting Authority for not giving them time to make representations before re-enrolling the case.

The matter was struck off the roll by the Kwaggafontein Magistrate's Court after the prosecutor failed to show up in court after allegedly receiving death threats.
