CAPE TOWN - The woman accused of abducting a newborn in Cape Town was granted bail of R4,000.
Sameemah Jacobs (37) was arrested last month after Mogamat Imaad Shamar was found at her home.
She must report to the police station and have no contact with witnesses.
She faces charges of kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice.
During the bail hearing, the investigating officer told the court that Jacobs is not a suitable candidate for bail.
But the defence argues she should be released as she is the primary caregiver to three children.
The case has been postponed to 15 October.
