PRETORIA - The trial of former Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula has been postponed.
She made a brief appearance in the Pretoria High Court on Thursday. The matter was adjourned to 20 August for the defense to receive transcripts of witnesses' evidence.
The State closed its case last week after presenting evidence for two weeks.
Mapisa-Nqakula is accused of soliciting bribes from a logistics contractor.
She has pleaded not guilty to all 12 counts of corruption and one count of money laundering.
The court has heard evidence that she received over two million rand in cash at various locations around Johannesburg.
The State's claims have been supported by businesswoman Nombasa Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu's husband and a financial expert.
