PRETORIA - TV personality and disbarred attorney Peet Viljoen has been denied bail in the multi-million-rand fraud case.
The court has deemed him a flight risk.
The disgraced attorney appeared in the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Monday.
Viljoen faces over 400 charges, including fraud and corruption linked to the sale of municipal property worth around R27 million in 2010.
He was arrested after landing at OR Tambo International Airport following his deportation from the US.
He was arrested in Florida for allegedly shoplifting at a well-known supermarket.
Viljoen and his wife have since issued a joint public apology on social media and committed to changing their behaviour.
