PRETORIA - US President Donald Trump's pick for ambassador to South Africa, Leo Brent Bozell III, has arrived in the country.
He's a conservative activist and writer handpicked by Trump.
He was critical of the ANC during apartheid and urged the US government not to talk to the liberation movement.
His arrival follows the expulsion of Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool from the US last year.

Bozell is expected to present his credentials to President Cyril Ramaphosa before officially taking up his post.
He arrives during fraught relations between South Africa and the US.
Bozell has not ruled out partnerships but wants South Africa to drop its genocide case against Israel.
President Ramaphosa can technically choose to reject or delay accepting the credentials.
