JOHANNESBURG - Months of speculation are finally over: Vodacom has struck a deal with Elon Musk’s Starlink to unleash lightning-fast internet in several African countries.
But South Africa is not on the list, just yet.
This partnership sets out to close the continent’s digital divide, delivering broadband to rural schools, health centres and communities left in the dark for too long.
Vodacom will also resell Starlink’s gear and services to businesses, rolling out flexible options like pay-as-you-go backup internet and rock-solid connectivity.
