PRETORIA - Arguments over a disputed statement will take centre stage next in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.
The court is preparing for another potential trial-within-a-trial, this time to debate whether a statement allegedly made by Sifiso Gwabini Zungu can be admitted as evidence.
Police claim Zungu hosted the accused at a Vosloorus hostel on the day Meyiwa was killed.
His alleged statement is said to back up the confessions of Muzi Sibiya and Bongani Ntanzi, as well as the testimony of star witness Constable Sizwe Zungu.
But before cross-examination can resume, the court wants arguments on the statement’s authenticity.
