WATCH: Ramaphosa addresses UN General Assembly

NEW YORK -  President Cyril Ramaphosa is leading the South African delegation at the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

This year's theme is "Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights."

It coincides with the 80th anniversary of the UN Charter.

As South Africa continues to plead with the United States to reconsider their steep import tariffs, Ramaphosa used part of his address at the UN General Assembly to call for trade reforms.

He said trade tariffs and trade embargos are examples of how trade is being weaponised.
