"We've been undermined by Paul O'Sullivan," says EFF MP Mathys

JOHANNESBURG - Witnesses refusing to appear are frustrating the SAPS Ad Hoc Committee.

Members say forensic investigator Paul O'Sullivan's failure to appear is undermining them and Parliament is doing nothing about it.

The Committee must finish its work by 6 February 2026.

EFF MP and Ad Hoc Committee member Leigh-Ann Mathys says that O'Sullivan has undermined them.

"We've been undermined by Paul O'Sullivan and Parliament has done nothing about it," Mathys said.

"It's been over 2 months now, chair. We had a witness here; he sent a message here, he has threatened a witness and we have done absolutely nothing."

Meanwhile, Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee is not impressed with Brown Mogotsi's demands.

Mogotsi is demanding his own private security detail and that Parliament foot the bill.

The committee is still working to secure his appearance.

The committee has now resolved to subpoena Mogotsi for refusing to testify before it.

Mogotsi has previously appeared before the Madlanga Commission.
