Zero tolerance for drunk driving this Durban July weekend

DURBAN - Durban is expecting tens of thousands of visitors for the prestigious Durban July horse-racing event.

Law enforcement agencies have deployed extra officers to crack down on reckless driving and lawlessness in the city.

More than 50,000 people are expected to gather in the city this Saturday.

Traffic officials conducted a roadblock at the Marianhill Toll Plaza to remind road users to obey the rules of the road.

The operation’s message was loud and clear: Drinking and driving can kill you!

Motorists echoed the call for fellow road users to prioritise road safety during this weekend’s festivities.
