MDANTSANE - The township of Mdantsane has come to a standstill as mourners and the boxing fraternity have descended on Sisa Dukashe Stadium to join the family of former two-division world boxing champion Zolani Tete to bid farewell to him.
Tete, 38, was killed outside his NU 17 home earlier this month. He was with a 27-year-old female companion who was also shot when the two were ambushed.
Four people are in police custody for the murder.
At the time of his death, Tete was preparing to return to boxing following a four-year doping ban. He denied taking any banned substances.
