PRETORIA - The man police claim hosted a gathering at a Vosloorus hostel where Senzo Meyiwa's murder was allegedly plotted says investigators threatened him when he went to court to challenge a statement his uncle made.
Sifiso 'Gwabini' Zungu, nephew of key state witness Constable Sizwe Zungu, says investigator Batho Mogola barred him from entering and accused him of trying to interfere with evidence.
Zungu placed all five accused at a Vosloorus hostel during his testimony two years ago.
He also told the court he saw the men exchanging firearms and one of them announcing Meyiwa’s death.
But Gwabini Zungu insists it’s all fabricated.
Gwabini also denies ever making a statement to police in 2020 and accuses investigators of threatening his life when he tried to challenge his uncle’s version in court.
The state has now begun its cross-examination, with Gwabini’s version expected to come under intense scrutiny.
