Transport minister to meet RAF over CEO's suspension

JOHANNESBURG - The Transport Department in government says it’s looking at ways to ensure the Road Accident Fund does its job.

Road Accident victims are entitled to receive payouts from the fund in South Africa.

The Road Accident Fund (RAF) has been accused of not making payments timeously.

Separately, the board has placed the RAF CEO, Collins Letsoalo, on special leaves following claims of corruption and mismanagement.

The Transport Ministry will meet with the board of the Road Accident Fund next Tuesday.

Transport Minister Barbara Creecy is to meet the board of the Road Accident Fund next week.

She discussed the challenges to the department on eNCA.
