Woman arrested for murder involving insurance claims

JOHANNESBURG - Police are calling on insurance companies and communities to sound the alarm if they suspect foul play when it comes to people claiming from insurance policies.

This after the arrest of a 49-year-old woman on suspicion of murdering her relative to benefit from an insurance claim.

A team of detectives, including the police officer who brought convicted serial killer Rosemary Nomia Ndlovu to book, have been working on this case following a tip-off from relatives.

Through analysis and collection of evidence including the exhumation of a body, the team was able to link the suspect to the case.

The suspect was traced and arrested.

The woman will be appearing before the Mmabatho Magistrate's Court on Friday on a charge of murder.
