ABERDEEN - Fifteen people, including two children, were killed in a crash between a minibus taxi and a truck in the Eastern Cape.

The nine women, five men, a two-year-old child and a two-month-old baby were all travelling in the minibus taxi.

It's believed a heavy-duty truck hit a stray animal, causing the driver to lose control on the N10 in Aberdeen.

As he was trying to regain control his trailer capsized, crushing the taxi beneath it.

The truck driver escaped with minor injuries.

Police are now investigating a case of culpable homicide.
