21 killed in high-speed train collision in Spain

MADRID - At least 21 people have been killed in a high-speed train collision in southern Spain.

Dozens more have been left injured.

Investigators say the train was heading from Malaga to Madrid when it derailed.

It then crossed onto an oncoming track and slammed into a second train.

The wreckage slowed rescue efforts and left several rail services suspended.

Officials say the incident is strange as it occurred on a refurbished, straight stretch of line.
