53 more Putco bus employees to be suspended
JOHANNESBURG - Putco says 53 more employees will be suspended and charged with misconduct.
The disciplinary action follows a recent unprotected strike.
The bus company also says disciplinary hearings for all 139 employees will be expedited to ensure fairness.
Putco says the hearings will be held by independent commissioners of the South African Road Passenger Bargaining Council.
The appeal hearings are part of the Section 150 settlement agreement signed with unions.
If unions accept, accused employees will have the opportunity to answer to the misconduct charges against them.
Putco further says that some dismissed employees could be reinstated.
