JOHANNESBURG - A Gauteng old age home remains open despite an instruction from the provincial government for it to be shut down.
A former volunteer caregiver alleges residents were beaten, served rotten food and cared for by unqualified staff.
Neighbours said they’ve raised concerns for years.
The Social Development Department found the facility to be non-compliant and ordered the relocation of residents.
