Action SA wants action taken against lawlessness

JOHANNESBURG - ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba says the violent clashes between groups of "zama zamas", and police in Riverlea is a perfect example of government’s inability to protect its people.

The party wants Bheki Cele to fix the policing sector and tackle crime effectively.

It marched to Cele’s office earlier to hand over a memorandum of demands.

He's been given 30 days to devise a plan of action.

Mashaba said, "I’m sure you’re aware a few months ago on a Sunday I was called by the community of Riverlea when the Zama Zamas were completely out of control."

"I went with the community of Riverlea to give memorandum unfortunately as soon as you leave things go back to normal." "You can see this government has no political will to protect South Africans from this complete lawlessness."
