JOHANNESBURG - AfriForum has withdrawn from the National Dialogue.
It says the ANC has taken control of the process, capturing it from its intended citizen-led nature.

The National Convention is scheduled for this weekend, but several foundations, political parties and other organisations have denounced it.
Political Economist Moeletsi Mbeki says the National Dialogue is a pointless exercise if it remains purely an ANC initiative.

Several civil society groups and political parties have withdrawn, citing concerns about the administration, funding and format of the dialogue.
The national convention kicks off in two days.
