ESTCOURT - There’s a sense of grief and reflection as loved ones, fellow artists, and fans gather to say their final goodbyes to Albert Mazibuko.
He died on Easter Monday following a short illness. He was 77.
For those closest to him, the loss has been deeply personal, coming during a tour, they're still processing the shock.
But today’s farewell also marks a moment to honour a life defined by humility, dedication, and mentorship.
Thulani Shabalala, a Ladysmith Black Mambazo member, said he has never met anyone as dedicated as Mazibuko.
“We've been very sad and broken. This is our icon, this is our legend. He taught us so many things. It's been a very difficult two weeks for us,” Shabalala said.
